A Word Of Wisdom

A word of wisdom, a gift from the Holy Spirit.

I compared the gift of a word of wisdom to a carpenter's pencil.

It is a necessary tool that can be used to leave a mark precisely where it needs to be so that the building and construction can take place accurately.

It guides us where to cut and where to place things.

Wisdom is the principal thing we need to know what we're doing and how to do it and then we can pull out the rest of the gifts that are needed to complete what God wants to do.

A word of wisdom is a how-to guide that gives us direction and instruction for what we need to do.

We found that these come in different moments like:

During persecution.

It can separate us from worldly knowledge.

Everyday situations

When we're trying to share or understand God's word.

Steven spoke and shared powerful words

In James we learn that we can ask for a wisdom when we need it.

Jesus demonstrated words of wisdom that caused those that were trying to trap him in carefully crafted questions he left them speechless.

In Acts Peter and John when they were arrested for sharing the gospel and helping people, the Religious crowd was amazed that these fishermen spoke with such authority and wisdom.

How do you see this gift working in your life now?

What was your favorite nugget from this message

What part or how did this word come alive to you?

How do you see this gift working in your life now?

As John brought out “getting out of my comfort zone.” Since Tabernacles, I have felt this shift of not being ashamed of who I am in Christ. I AM NOT ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL! If I want to make a mark with my “pencil” tool, I have to be confident in what I am saying and everything I am doing. I don’t want a whole bunch of scribble marks in my life and I definitely don’t want to scribble on other people. Having the Word of Wisdom is also having the confidence to share it with others. You’re not weary. Because 1. Who would want to believe in someone…

Love this, " It’s not your words. You are even surprised by what’s coming out of it"--that is it--we cannot take credit for it as a Word of Wisdom comes from the Spirit of God, not ourselves or google or our next door neighbor, LOL!

  1. I find myself opening up to others and not afraid to talk to others about on what God has done in my life and still working in me. It's like the tape measure. How far are we willing to step in the water. Are willing to go all in. Or are we just going to tip toe.

  2. The tool box was great. It's like the bible. It stores so many tools as in the bible it has a lots of knowledge & wisdom and stories.

Thank Kevin for opening up and talking to people about what God has done in your life--you are a changed man and it is evident to all around you! You can expect the more you talk to people and care about having an answer for them. the more God will give you exactly what they need--even a Word of Wisdom.

Great teaching of the word Pastor Aaron.

How do you see this gift working in your life now?

I had to come out of my comfort zone and get into deep prayer with the Lord and I have notice changes.I thought God wanted to just send me out and try and have a encounter with others but I had it happen to me where someone had me in mind and I thought it makes sense that God can send me why wouldn't he send someone for me so I felt a warmth in that moment because we were almost on the same page so I felt God's presence on my soul in that moment.

What part of the word came…

Thank you Pastor Aaron for a great message that will be remembered in connection with the tool box and pencil--great props!

How do you see this gift working in your life now? This is one of the gifts I always felt was illusive. I would ask and not hear an answer so often. Now, I realize, I just may have not been in faith. believing I would receive. Yet, today, I was asked a question and the answer was right there and I knew it was a Word of Wisdom. It sounded different than I had imagined a Word of Wisdom would sound or be in the past, but that's the beauty of it--getting out of my box and simply…

How do you see this gift working in your life now?

Seeking more of Spirit of Wisdom for my day to day life… what would my life be like if we asked first before my way failed? Like Pastor Aaron mentioned, in the little things after a time, we can fall into the thought of “I don’t want to bother God with this, He’s got bigger things to do”. But, His eye is on the sparrow… wants to redeem our time, save us from cost and frustration, even in the little things.

I’ve touched this from time to time, or I should say He’s touched me, whether I’m building something physical or digital. An answer and solution right in time.…

Thank you Rabbi Nate for an excellent post and reminding me to "seek first the Kingdom of God...." on daily issues. I too fall into the trap of trying to solve problems without seeking God first thinking I can handle them on my own.....

Great statements: "How do you see this gift working in your life now?
