Come - His Heart Crying Out For You

Aug 31
3 min read

God desires an up close and personal relationship with mankind. From Adam and Eve all the way until today, His desire has never changed. He wants a one on one relationship with His creation. The very first time God asked someone to come was Noah, Genesis 7:1, because God was about to flood the earth and destroy it but Noah was seen righteous and God wanted to protect Him from the flood. Noah experienced the flood but God protected Him in the ark because Noah responded to the invitation to "Come!" He wants the same for us as well.

God knows that you and I get weighed down with sin, self-defeating thoughts, doubting His love for us, and the lie of the enemy that tells us God does not want us back because of our past. God was smart enough to know that which is why He tells us in Isaiah 1:18-19 "18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as

scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as

wool.

19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land"

He knows if we are open and honest with Him and confess our sin to Him during our "reasoning time," He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from ALL sin and unrighteousness, I John 1:9. During that conversation, our sin stained life and thoughts are removed and we become white as a wool on a sheep! Sheep get dirty out in the field like we do with our life which is why God wants us to come to Him ALL the time!

Will you receive the invitation of God's cry on Sunday to "Come unto Him, ALL ye (MEANING YOU) that labour and are heavy laden, so He can give you rest" according to Matthew 11:28 - 30.

Here are the defintions of the words come, labour, heavy laden, and rest.

Meaning of come:

Meaning: 1) come hither, come here, come 2) interjection, come!, come

now!

Meaning of labour:

Meaning: 1) to grow weary, tired, exhausted (with toil or burdens or grief)

2) to labour with wearisome effort, to toil 2a) of bodily labour

Meaning of heavy laden:

Meaning: 1) to place a burden upon, to load 2) metaph. to load one with

a burden (of rites and unwarranted precepts)

Meaning of rest:

Meaning: 1) to cause or permit one to cease from any movement or

labour in order to recover and collect his strength 2) to give rest,

refresh, self rest, take rest 3) to keep quiet, of calm and

patient expectation

Are you experiencing labour and being heavy laden in your life? Do you need rest? Are you ready to respond to the invitation to Come and reason together with Him?

Questions to discuss this week:

1) Why does God want you to come to Him and reason together?

2) What is the consequence if we do not Come to Him and reason together?

3) What areas of your life have you identified that you are labouring and heavey laden with?

4) How do you become like John the Baptist and be a "voice of one crying in the wilderness?"

5) How are you letting this message become life in your life?

Being A Voice Crying In The Wilderness,

1(Why does God want you to come to him and reason together?

It's one of the ways God loves his children just like any father there are times when he is proud and times were our consequences matter and anything that separates us from God and we choose sin over obedience just like any father there he must try and reason with us to correct our flesh full ways and thinking it's not that he enjoys disaplin but it's the opposite it's because he loves us and he wants us to thrive.

2) what is the consequences if we do not come to him and reason together)?

Nothing good .Me choosing my self-centered ways

1) Why does God want you to come to Him and reason together?

He wants a close relationship with me. He needs me to understand that He clearly sees my sins, He knows all about them, and wants me to know He can handle them. He wants me cleansed and wants me to see myself as His sheep, not putting up a false stained image that He can never restore. For the relationship, I need to willingly come and be open to our current state being laid out. Scarlet as it may be. Then when I see and confess it, He can forgive me and cleanse me.

I appreciate this Rabbi Nathan, "Come and reason with God, get His heartbeat, receive the REST that He is giving. Then take His yoke and work with Him. Freely give what I freely receive!" When we get God's heartbeat--not just know what it is--after all, we do--we know He wants us to seek and save the lost, heal the sick, cast out devils, etc. Yet to have it go past our head and get in us as why we live each day, that's really having His heart. I know that is what you desire, just as well as many of us do. Taking His yoke then means we not only can have His heart but know we are working with…

Great message Rev, Ryan! Sorry for the book but there are several questions! LOL!

Why does God want you to come to Him and reason together? He wants to take all the burden and weariness from us. Many times that comes from striving, trying to make things happen, or trying to do it ourselves. Yet, when we come, He cleanses us from sin, and can give us rest. Time to recover and get strength. He can show us why what we’ve been doing hasn’t worked and show us His heart. We can learn from Him and begin to truly see results of the Word working in our lives.

Enjoyed your post Elder Christy,

Great statement on why God wants us to come to Him: "Yet, when we come, He cleanses us from sin, and can give us rest. Time to recover and get strength. He can show us why what we’ve been doing hasn’t worked and show us His heart. We can learn from Him and begin to truly see results of the Word working in our lives." -- Fleshy efforts are draining and take an emotional, mental, and spiritual toll on us that we do not know until we come to Him. When we come, reason, and repent during our conversation He causes us to recover, strengthen us, and give us His playbook to go achieve wha…
