As we relearn these definitions of the fruit of the spirit of God we are adjusting the I and realize it has to become a we. It's God and I that can produce this in our life.
The yoke of trying to be like God without God's influence is a heavy yolk and that's not the burden that God intended us to carry.
He has instructed us to abide in the vine, pursuing him and him pursuing us producing a relationship where we develop and his character that is seen in our daily life.
This lifestyle is sustainable. We can continue to produce the fruit of the Spirit when we are abiding in the vine staying connected to God.
God is helping us transform into a new wineskin so that we can contain and pour out his spirit to this earth.
The fruit of goodness was demonstrated by the parable Jesus spoke of. The Good Samaritan, It emulated what he would do: no religious person could save anyone but the one who stopped and invested time and his resources and gave his life was the one who really could save the man on the side of the road.
How do you see the fruit of patience/fortitude?
What were the three characteristics of goodness?
What part of this word came alive to you?
