Title: Intersections

Focus: Seeing Past The Bumper

When we take a glimpse into just a moment of someone's life sitting at the stop light we might see them singing or looking at their phone or deep in thought and we immediately begin to formulate who we think they are or what's going on or even may judge what type of person they are by that moment.

Proverbs 16:9 A man plans his ways but the Lord Directs his steps.

One of the most important Intersections we go through is the Cross and the redemptive power of Christ and our heart.

Psalms 37:23 Steps of a Righteous Man are ordered of the Lord And He delights in his way.

Green: is go.

Yellow: caution be aware of what is happening

Red: It changes when you are are on your journey

No turn on red: Don't go when God says to wait He may Just be saying not yet

The Little Girl was an answer to the request of a 80 Year old Woman asking how do I find you God.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Repentance is one of the main reasons young people have stayed with the faith.

It's also the main reason that they have left the faith they never saw repentance demonstrated to them by their parents, by their leaders, by ones that were to show them the gospel.

If you want to keep the next generation in the faith and not walk away, get real and honest with your sin.  show them the Gospel is real and works.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

2 Timothy 2:24-26  Repentance Grant us repentance Lord.

24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.

We must teach our sons and daughters to repent. The process and that the good news of the gospel is, It redeems us, restores us and makes us whole.

2 Samuel 12: 13 So David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.”

Psalms 51:1-12 David's Prayer of repentance highlights

Blot out my transgressions.... Wash me whiter than snow....  Create in me a clean heart and renew in me a steadfast spirit in me....

Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.

Restore the joy of my salvation.

The most important lesson I can teach my son is how to repent, how to come to God honestly and openly and allow forgiveness and restoration.  The good news of the gospel to come alive in his life.

We must fight to keep The Presence of God to not be separated from God.

I can't just tell him I have to show him.  Showing the process, showing the submission, showing the change and showing the evidence that once I've done it God made a difference in my life.

David was a man after God's Own Heart who quickly repented because he wanted to restore his relations with God. Not just get back his famous status or position.

What was your experience worshipping and gathering together in the city?

It was a good experience anytime people come together and prays and worship things happen. With that said I was looking around at the other churches and there members and I noticed that I bet the average age was retired age and the people looked tired and it concerns me other than "Bam" having a youthful family present I didn't see many young people and I feel that's the generation that God has put in my focus I'm 48 years old and I didn't see people even my age so that's why Bam has been getting us ready to go into the city and try to find the people.

  1. Being at the stop light. Like those passing by and being stopped at the light. Asking them selfs. What's going on over there on the court house lawn. Why didn't I get asked to go. That's where we go out to the community's and spread God's word.

  2. As we're out into the community areas people are watching every move or action or talk on how we caring our selfs. That's how they see us in there eyes to see and there ears to hear.

  3. Sin is out there. Staring right in our face. We don't want to get distracted and keep our eyes on The Father. On what's real and what's fake.

A desire from the heart for more to gather to God. Putting the shovel in and continuing to dig. Thankful for an absolutely beautiful day. Thankful for a great Word to apply to life.

It’s more effective to demonstrate repentance than teach it, at minimum for children we raise, if not also for those we work with, interact with etc. Hypocrisy in repentance drives and keeps people away from God. But demonstrating it draws people in and keeps them.

Real repentance is “I don’t want to lose YOU, God” not…

Excellent word Ps. Aaron! Thank you for sharing your heart!

  1. My experience with worshipping and gathering in the city is that there are and aren’t those who want God and want God presence. Sometimes the best thing is to simply be the one who opens the door and just shows them how to walk through it.

  1. Show someone the way. It seems that we view repentance as this very private and perhaps shameful thing. But how will the next generation or new believers ever learn if they don’t see/experience it first hand. The phrase “we’re all human” comes to mind. Do we try so hard as “seasoned” christians to be good examples that we leave out being an example of…
