LET'S BE REASONABLE

A SOUND RISING

I hear the Spirit Saying:

Come back to the Altar!

Come back to the Fire!

Come back to a life of Dedication!

Dedication begins at the altar.

The Apostle Paul explains that if we want the fire, we must present ourselves on the altar.

Dedication is an offering.

You cannot have the fire without the altar

You cannot have the altar without the sacrifice

God sends fire where God sees the sacrifice of surrender

We present the sacrifice, and God sends the fire.

When God sees a person on the altar as a sacrifice for others, He sends the fire of the Spirit with His gifts.

Dedication brings the fire of transformation.

Dedication helps you discern the will of God

Dedication activates the Gifts of the Spirit

Dedication makes you faithful

Dedication is motivated by the mercies of God

LET'S BE REASONABLE

How Dedicated Do I Have to Be?

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Reasonable – logikos – logical, topic of discussion, mental calculation

·        Prove – test, discern, approve

·        Good – benefit

·        Acceptable – well pleasing

·        Perfect – complete moral character

What level of dedication is reasonable to you?

QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION:

  1. How did the definitions of the words: good, acceptable, and perfect, change your mind about your level of dedication and your reasonable service?

  2. What change in dedication will you make to keep the fire burning?

  3. How will dedication activate the gifts of the Spirit in your life?

  4. What was your greatest "aha" moment in the message?

Looking forward to our discussion

In His Service,

Bishop Bill

1. How did the definitions of the words: good, acceptable, and perfect, change your mind about your level of dedication and your reasonable service?

Sometimes I can get so focused on the trials and tribulations on this faith journey and the amount of discipline and work it takes to be truly dedicated. The definition of good meaning benefit helped remind me of all the benefits that I do have as a dedicated believer. This also reminds me that salvation and healing are a benefit package. If you are saved, you have healing as well. There are great benefits to serving God.

In addition, I am reminded that we are truly set apart. As I "see the tree, how big its…

Hi Rabbi Hunter,

What a great summary of the message: The reality is, people don't need invites to a breakfast, they need a word from heaven. I feel that God is telling me it is time to take that next step, instead of just inviting them to BAM to receive from God at a service, I need to use the gifts of the spirit to bring God to them right there where they are. Then after they receive God, that's when they will have a desire to attend church because they know God is there.

Thanks for being one of the Elijahs of today: There are a lot of "Christians" running around with unlit Menorahs who are bearing false witness…

What a series of dedication messages! Thank you Bishop! I have been inspired to be dedicated!

  1. How did the definitions of the words: good, acceptable, and perfect, change your mind about your level of dedication and your reasonable service?

I have been taught that there are levels to His will, ie good, acceptable, and perfect, although I think I have lumped them all together, as in one category that meant if you hit one, you hit all three. .🤣 I am coming to grips with the question of 'have I proved any of these to others?' Humbling! Does my level of dedication "prove" to the world that I have not conformed to the world? The word "complete" stands out to…

Hi Rev. Connie

This statement pretty much sums up what it means to be in the ministry: I hear the sound arising! It's my reasonable service to be in the state of "offering" myself for the service of others. I am so moved to want to be in a position for God to pour His fire on me, that would put me in a position for others to experience a touch, word, encouragement, inspiration, and love of God that would cause them to believe, change, transform, and ultimately dedicate themselves to God.

Yes, it is time for the fire and the gifts: When God sees our sacrifice, (for others) He sends the fire! The fire of God which comes from…

  1. How did the definitions of the words: good, acceptable, and perfect, change your mind about your level of dedication and your reasonable service?

Taking the list from things that describe what God wants to do.  To the internal fruit that is produced from my connection with God.  The result of the transformation that his influence has created in my life.

  1. What change in dedication will you make to keep the fire burning?

Intentionally choosing the sacrifice that will stoke the fire and allow his fire to burn in me not just on me.

  1. How will dedication activate the gifts of the Spirit in your life?

Dedication creates connection for the gifts of the spirit to operate. I must be connected…

Hi Pastor Aaron,

Thanks for catching the difference between the fire on you and in you: Intentionally choosing the sacrifice that will stoke the fire and allow his fire to burn in me not just on me. AND the fire comes from God. We cannot light ourselves, but our sacrifices are what stokes the fire.   The fire is to be in us, not just on us.

Great Post

  1. How did the definitions of the words: good, acceptable, and perfect, change your mind about your level of dedication and your reasonable service? It showed me that there are a lot of areas in my life where I’m not dedicated to God in. And that I fall short of the plans that He has for my life because of the lack of dedication.

  2. What change in dedication will you make to keep the fire burning? I need to become more dedicated to the things of God, and less dedicated to the things that I think I need to do. Or should I say it this way, o need to be dedicated to God in the things that I do in…

Hi Deacon Heath,

Thank you for seeing what is stopping all that God has for your life: It showed me that there are a lot of areas in my life where I’m not dedicated to God in. And that I fall short of the plans that He has for my life because of the lack of dedication.

This is "Letting the Word become Life in your life: Or should I say it this way, I need to be dedicated to God in the things that I do in my everyday life. When I go to work, take Him with me, when I’m helping others, take Him with me. I need to become dedicated to do what He wants to do.

How did the definitions of the words Good, acceptable, and, Perfect, change your mind about your level of dedication and your reasonable service?

Well I had to ask myself. Have I been dedicated and I humbley say no why do I no this to be true because I don't have any fruit of prof of harvest to show I have not been dedicated to God or people. With the feast of dedication past I see it my lack of growth for myself and my dedication. I am far from purfick and it's not acceptable for God and his kingdom.

What change in dedication will you make to keep the fire burning?

Hi John

Great takeaway from the message: It starts with me rededicating myself to God and the kingdom. I have had the fire at times, but I never put the work into keeping it going. Sometimes I need a reminder or stoke the fire when needed. I need to engage myself more. Listen, talk, pray to keep my light and fire shining bright for all people to see.

What a great "aha" moment: That I need to Rededicat myself to God and choose this lifestyle and responsibility that comes with serving God, and try saving some souls for the kingdom. Will it be easy of course not but as long as I remain dedicated to God that's my focus God…
