Shield of Faith

When we hear this phrase shield of faith we commonly think of a wooden shield that was used back in early days of medieval fighting and we limit our faith to this object maybe made of wood and some metal.

I heard this phrase: your faith is a shield. It's constructed of something entirely different. It's not made from wood or metal, it's faith.
In Hebrews it says it's impossible to please God without faith. In Romans 12:3 it says we've all been given a measure of faith. So we must hear the word so that we can cause our faith to grow.
Jesus in Matthew 5:6 fed 5,000 he used his faith It shielded him from the words of his disciples who said this was impossible. His faith saw into the invisible realm and he was obedient to God's instruction he prayed and blessed the food and they distributed among the people and there were more left overs than what they started with.
Our faith is a shield to the thoughts that say what God wants to do is impossible.
And Hebrews 11 we read that Faith is the substance of things hoped for are the way to describe this is faith is not a blind leap into the unknown but a confident expectation and certainty about what God has promised even if those things are not yet visible or tangibly present.
Without faith we never can work with God to accomplish what he desires to do. It takes a step into the unknown but fully trusting God in that step.

What is a new understanding of or application of your faith? A new understanding I’ve gained is that faith is not just a passive belief, it’s a living, active shield. It’s not something made of external materials like wood or metal, but something spiritual and powerful, constructed by God and nurtured through His Word. It protects our hearts and minds from doubt and fear, especially when we’re facing situations that seem impossible.
Can you see your faith differently now? Yes, I can see my faith not as something I occasionally use, but as something I carry constantly. It’s not just for defense, it’s also for vision. It gives me the ability to see into what God is doing, even when…

The statement I have stated in my notes is “Actively holding up faith, and choosing to trust and believe God, His word, and His character.” (The actual quote from Ps. Aaron is “Actively trusting God and his promises, choosing to believe in His character and word even admits adverse circumstances” but that’s what I wrote down lol) The thing that really grabbed me was the actively choosing to trust and believe God and His Word and His character. Actively trust. Actively engage. We know that without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb. 11:6), but that trust…
