We are going to focus on knowing the source.
In John 10:10 we read the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus came that we might have life abundantly.
We understand that the enemy's full-time job is to steal, kill and destroy; he does this through three major types of temptations.
Jesus was led into the wilderness to be tempted as a man We read this in Matthew 4:1
He fasted for 40 days and then the enemy came with temptation 1 questioning his provision, his source challenging him to take that into his own hands to turn a stone into bread.

Then Jesus responded with it is written. At his weakness he beat the enemy with the word that was in his heart.
We see the same pattern emerge in Genesis when Satan came and tempted Eve. The first temptation was pointing out what they lacked.
We can recognize that that will be very possibly where the devil starts with us getting us to focus on lack and trying to be our own provider, our own source.
Satan twisted Eve's knowledge of God's instruction and he used it against her to confuse her. We see the same pattern emerge when Satan tempted Jesus. He literally used scripture but with the wrong purpose and the wrong attitude. He questioned Jesus's identity and tried to get him to use the word of God improperly.
Jesus overcame him again by knowing it is written thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God he understood the purpose and the heartbeat of the word and this again caused him to overcome this temptation.
The third and final temptation was to offer his purpose another way he tempted him by giving him the reason he came to this earth with the only catch: just bow down and worship me Satan is always trying to give us a shortcut if we will turn our worship to him.
At that point Jesus told him to just go away and that is weakest physically Satan immediately left. Jesus overcame those temptations that we all face. Satan hasn't got any new plans. He's doing the same thing in our lives. We must recognize it and find our it is written.
When we have it it doesn't matter what our physical state is. We will have power to overcome whatever temptation the enemy brings to us.
All he has is fiery darts as described in the scriptures but it's just thoughts that are customized to our situation and our fears but they fall into these categories are provision, our identity and our purpose. When we recognize it we can see the source and we know the lie. Then our it is written, the truth will prevail.
Which of the three types of temptations have you recognized the enemy trying to use in your life?
Have you found your, it is written?
What part of this message came alive to you and has become life in your life?
