WHEN SYMPTOMS COME

I Am the Lord That Healeth Thee

Exodus 15:26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.

If you diligently – shama - hear and obey His Word, do and keep His commandments – instructions for life and health, Sickness won't even come to you; if it does, He heals you.

Psalm 105:37 He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.

He Saved, Delivered, Prospered, and Healed All, No need for hospitals or Banks

Isaiah 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

1.      Griefscholiy – disease, sickness

2.      Sorrowsmakob – pain

3.      Transgressions pesha – sin, trespass

4.      Iniquitiesavon - fault, punishment for wickedness

5.      Healedrapha – mend, cure, repair, make whole

Jesus took 39 Stripes on His back for every source of disease

SALVATION AND HEALING WERE PAID FOR ON THE CROSS

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

·         Jesus saved us on the cross

·         Jesus healed us on the cross

We see here that healing for the body is provided in the same redemption as salvation for the spirit.

·         In redemption, there is both physical and spiritual healing

·         If you are saved, you should be healed.

·         If you are healed, you should be saved

APPLICATION THROUGH FAITH

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

·         Saved by Grace sozo – save, deliver, heal, make whole

·         Application Through Faith – pistis – truth of God, inward assurance, trust, confidence

·         Faith is believing God will do what He promised

o   Grace – Chair

o   Faith – Sitting in the chair

YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

·         You must be born again to enter into the Kingdom blessings

QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION:

  1. Name three qualifications to receive healing according to Exodus. 15:26

  2. In the list of things in Isaiah 53:4,5 that Jesus bore on the cross, which ones were you not aware of before this message?

  3. Did you separate healing from salvation in our redemption at the cross?

  4. Why is application through faith necessary in saved by grace?

  5. Why must you be born again to receive healing?

  6. What was your "aha" moment in the message?

Looking forward to our discussion

  1. In the list of things in Isaiah 53:4,5 that Jesus bore on the cross, which ones were you not aware of before this message? Grief and Sorrow I never paid much attention to.

  1. Did you separate healing from salvation in our redemption at the cross?

Yes.

  1. Why is application through faith necessary to be saved by grace?

Can’t save myself. It requires trusting him and to actively stop trying to save myself on the side.

  1. Why must you…

Hi Pastor Aaron, I love your statement: If I’m not born again you can’t even see the kingdom of God let alone access the benefits.

And your statement: No matter how long I have been doing it, I still have to engage the word.   Today is the day for salvation.  The work of the Cross must be applied to each situation. This is the deception that many who have been in church for a long time fall into.

Name three qualifications to receive healing according to Exodus. 15:26

Diligently listen to the voice of the LORD, not just a one time thing.

Hear Him and obey Him, means do it.

Keep on hearing and doing.

Even "knowing" those verses, I suppose I've kept everything lumped under transgressions/sin. Stuck on a "stock salvation prayer" - "I believe Jesus died for my sins..." Yes, and griefs, sorrows, iniquities, healing. Also, more fine grained, was not aware of transgressions vs iniquities - sin & trespass vs fault & punishment. Something to chew on.

Hi Nate, I love your statement: Healing is a blessing. Citizens of the Kingdom, God's sons and daughters, may receive the blessings of the Kingdom. You may not enter the Kingdom if you're not born again. Not part of the Kingdom, not partaker of the blessings.

And your statement: It's not one more bit of knowledge on salvation or healing that will save or heal me. I must be born again.

Thank you for catching the heartbeat of the message: "Marvel not, Ye must be born again.

Sorrow-pain.

I always associated this with emotion. Particular when it came to grieve. But, man, does that limit what God has promised. But, pain is carrying out pain is a lot more than that-and yes it can be physical or emotional, He cares about it all.

In that same vein, I think I always just kind of thought if sickness and disease are covered…

Hi Amanda, I love your statement: Maybe as a symptom of something else, maybe a bit self-inflicted by a choice, maybe it’s simply that something has been worn down and is raw. But as a born-again child of God, we don’t have to and shouldn’t be hanging onto and carrying that, especially when He says He’s got it and to not save yourself. Because really so often is why we prolong pain: because we’re trying to manage it ourselves.

This is the deception that many who have been in church for a long time revert back to saving themselves in the name of protecting our "Christian image"

(Hearing and obeying him) And all his commands and laws.

In the list of things in Isaiah 53:4,5 that Jesus born on the cross, which one's were you not aware of before this message?

For me it was Sorrow's and Uniquelys

Jesus took all his suffering so I would not have to. Experience that kind of pain and sorrow.

Did you separate healing from salvation in our redemption at the cross?

Yes

Why is application through faith necessary in saved by grace?

Because if God says it to be true then God's promise to us is his word because God says so.

Why must you be Born again to receive healing?

Hi John, I love your statement: In fact some days it's a dog fight with life happening and we take our minds off God and we are all ready behind the 8 ball but what am I starting to see and hear from God is I got you just trust me and that's what for my experience with God is I am trusting him and things are changing and that's why he allowed Jesus to be crucified because we all need a Savior some one to bleed 🩸 for us so we don't have to.

Hi Deacon Heath, I love your statement: Why is application through faith necessary in saved by grace? because I must believe that God will do what He says He will do.

As far as your statement: I don't have healing in my body so I must not be born again. I know you are born again, so settle that; it is just a matter of knowing that healing is the children's bread and it is yours.
