We are in the midst of Counting the Omer and as we Count Up to Pentecost God said He wants us to MAKE IT COUNT! We have 40 days of Counting left and we are not to simply count them as a number but truly make them Count. The beautiful thing is God told us how we can Make It Count and it's not about making ourselves happier as is common among thinking today about Making each day Count.
The Prophet shared with us at the beginning of this Gregorian calendar year some things that God was saying that would unfold throughout the year--God reminded us of a piece of that today so we can Make It Count as we Count up to Pentecost. He reminded us of what He said about Plague, Purge, and Pierce the Darkness....
God said He will be an enemy to our enemies--in fact He will plague them--what is He asking from us? Praise and worship Him--everyday--so that we grow closer in our relationship with Him and our focus is on Him and not the problems around us.
He also said that we must Make it Count by purging (cleansing) things from our lives that keep us focused on self--a great way to do that is through repentance--which in turn can cause us to be in position to receive revelation of His word so that it can Become Life in Our Life.
We need both of these P's in our life so we can get the 3rd P--Pierce the Darkness working--Hebrews 4:12-13 (NLT), "For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and morrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. vs13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before His eyes, and He is the one to whom we are accountable." It takes one word from the throne room of heaven to truly pierce the darkness is someone's life--giving them the opportunity to come out of that darkness or decide they want to stay in. We can only hear this if we Make it Count daily with this first two of these P's. Let's discuss...
***No questions today...Instead I want you to talk about what grabbed a hold of your attention and your heart and what you will do about it. You can talk about any part of the message as long as it became real to you and went beyond your head to really touch your heart--that is where change is at.
Excellent message Elder Christy, been processing all week.
There were two points that really stood out to me.
The first point that really stood out was how we need to make counting the omer really count this year. Back at the Feast of Dedication I heard for my life that, "I really want to live it this year." Meaning I really want the Feasts to come alive. How can I have the Feast of Unleavened Bread come alive unless I make counting the omer really count. Thank you for the encouragment/ the reminder of how important it is to make this part of our life. So, repenting, praising, worshipping, counting our harvest is what I am suppose to do everyday.
Thank you Nate, for not only grabbing a hold of something from the message but understanding what it takes to do something about it. One thing I realize about the questions on the blogs is we can go back and remember the answer we were told (know the right answer but not "know" it)--- for it to be real in our lives it has to move past our head and we have to know what we are going to do about it.
Your last couple of sentences are really the whole point of Making it Count, "Armed in the spirit with a living word from Him to go and pierce through the darkness in someone’s life to make a real…
To Pierce the darkness there must be a pureness of purpose. A purging that takes place in me that would allow God room for him to flow through me. The word of God is alive and I desire to hear it, understand it and speak it in such a way that it is powerful, sharp and divides the soul and the spirit and brings deliverance to the innermost thoughts of people's lives.
So keeping the purging of why I do this focused on the value of the life saved, not the accomplishment or the possible way that it could benefit myself because he is the one that does the work and he's using a willing vessel.
Two things really stood out to me during this message. The first is in reference to Luke 9, I just heard it in a piercing way, the statement being: "My life IS Christ, therefore I die daily". When that anointing, the Spirit of the Father, becomes our source instead of just our add-on, dying daily will be our desire, not our task.
Second, the concept of piercing the darkness. When self tries to dispel darkness it's like taking a little lamp out in the middle of the night. When a word directly from the throne is there and available it is like the morning sun piercing the darkness. It doesn't just light up a tiny area, it scatters the darkness.…
The statement that really grabbed my attention was “When we think we know something we don’t ask, and because we don’t ask we miss what is really happening.”
It is way to easy to look and see what a person needs without truly seeing what their need is.
Yeah your heart may break but if you base it off of that it is entirely possible that you will still be missing what they actually need, what God actually want to do. The need we see may not be what God is doing.
Far too often I’ve caught myself saying “God I want this for them.” Which, yeah, is good intentions, but that doesn’t mean it was God. I was completely…
