Serve It Up

Some people enter Churches like it's a 5-star restaurant thinking whether spoken out loud or not, “Good morning! I’ll take a little worship—medium rare—with a side of encouragement. But hold the conviction. And if the sermon goes over 30 minutes? I’m sending it back to the kitchen!”

Let’s make it plain: Jesus didn’t die so we could snack and recline. He died so we could serve—on purpose, with passion, and for Kingdom business.

Jesus Himself gave us the example in Mark 10:45 and John 13:14. He didn’t come to be served, He came to serve and give His life. He took up a towel and washed feet. He didn't say these exact words and yet He did say it it if you can hear it, "You were SAVED TO SERVE."

Salvation comes with a job description. Let’s break it down:

  • In the world, companies don’t hire folks just to hand out benefits. They hire you for a job—and the benefits follow.

  • Some people join churches for the benefits package—salvation, eternal life, relationship with the Father, relationship with the family of God, joint heirs with Jesus, abundant life on this earth, and the list goes on!

  • But make no mistake: If you're in the House, you're on the clock. You’ve got work to do. And that work is Kingdom service or what I called Kingdom Business!

I brought out that there is a posture to serve. It's humility, willingness, and joy. Your freedom in Christ isn’t a license to coast—it’s a launching pad to serve others outside of the ones you want to serve like your own family. I didn't say this when I preached, but I'll say it here, if the only people you want to serve is your family, you will loose your position to serve only because that is NOT truly serving.

From persecutor to preacher, from slave trader to song writer, from atheist to apologist—God turns broken vessels into powerful servers. I gave a few examples:

  • The Apostle Paul – From persecutor to New Testament powerhouse.

  • John Newton – From slave trader to author of Amazing Grace.

  • C.S. Lewis – From atheist to defender of the faith.

  • Mary Magdalene – From demonic bondage to resurrection messenger.

  • Zacchaeus – From greedy tax collector to generous follower.

Listen you were saved to serve and saved for a purpose!

I think my favorite is Apostle Paul's example because of his PASSION to see lost people saved and saved people mature.

The product of service (serving) is KINGDOM BUSINESS! When you serve, you’re doing more than filling a role—you’re: building community, impacting lives, and glorifying God (1 Peter 4:10–11).

May this message motivate you to SEE IT THROUGH!!! Get Up, STIR IT UP, and SERVE IT UP!!!!!

“Present your bodies as a living sacrifice…” – Romans 12:1

“Love your neighbor as yourself.” – Matthew 22:39

“Go and make disciples…” – Matthew 28:19

Let's discuss:

  1. Why were you saved?

  2. How will you serve outside of Sunday and Wednesday?

  3. What exactly will you serve?

  4. What did you hear that convicted you and what did you hear that inspired a change in the way you "serve."

Why were you saved?

-saved to serve!

With Purpose, With Passion,

for the Kingdom Business

How will you serve outside of Sunday and Wednesday?

-"washing people's feet" aka-praying, being a friend, love them... And not just those I choose

What exactly will you serve?

-the truth-black and white😉

the substance I have received from this house

What did you hear that convicted you and what did you hear that inspired a change in the way you "serve."

-I'm convicted in---Paul had a passion for people's spiritual well being - - - sadly my caring has not always, if ever been a passion for someone's soul😑 have I cared, yes! But real passion, hmm... Didn't even realize it until recent messages…

Love your response here, "What exactly will you serve?-the truth-black and white😉

the substance I have received from this house" You took what the Prophet said and are owning it enough to serve it! Every time we serve with purpose and passion--we will most certainly be about kingdom business! Great post!

Why you saved? I was saved to serve.

I will serve in 1.) my general conversations with people and 2.) by being more helpful to those I come in contact with.

I will serve the things that I have been fed and truly partaken of and that have been beneficial in my life causing me to grow.

What convicted me was the phrase, "eat once you have served others." I have been served very much so serving is now a priority. What inspired me was 1 Peter 4:10 "if anyone serves they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ" I can serve on myself but it and…

Why were you saved? I was absolutely saved to serve! If I don't serve my Father and others, than what am I saved for? I love how Rev Connie brought out that we were not saved just so we don't go to hell--salvation allows us to be eternally with the Father, but the Father has a job for us to do!

How will you serve outside of Sunday and Wednesday? Right now the focus has been daily prayer and intercession for the people in our community leading up to the tent revival, hanging posters and handing out cards--sharing with those who will listen about what God is about to do and invite them to come and have an encounter with…

Great Post! You got it! I especially like your comment, "... make contact with people to serve. It's easy to send a text and chat through that way--not real contact." AND ... "It's pretty difficult to serve anything up if we do not make contact with people!" It is too easy to hide behind a phone or a computer screen.

I personally want to compliment you on your posture to serve as well as serving in line with Kingdom Business! I see you "building community, impacting lives, and glorifying God through you serving. It is evident that you are not just saved for the benefits but for the purpose of serving others what you have been served! You are a GO…

  1. Saved to serve.

  1. Concern for the spiritual well being of everyone you meet…see the need for connecting the disconnect. The spirit longs for the Father, the disconnect happens with all the mind, will, emotion, and body stuff that screams for attention (cares of this life).  Care enough. Look long enough. See a soul not just a body roaming around.  Which means having to be steadfast in seeking-Father help me help You. Help me see the disconnect and how to bring that connection to You back around.

  1. Not self. Solid doctrine-What I’ve been fed from BAM.

I wrote down a thought in my notes that you will serve someone what you’ve eaten. I know very few people who serve someone a…

Loved your post Amanda!!!!!!

I think when people are truly saved to serve they will have concern for the spiritual well-being of everyone they meet. I like your statement, "See a soul not just a body roaming around."

I like your point about, "that you will serve someone what you’ve eaten." AND "-if I’m serving self, or watered down, or secular sensitive food I must have eaten it myself (took it and let it become apart of who I am)." Thank you for taking a look at that very concept! Oh be careful little eyes what you see ...... OH BE CAREFUL LITTLE (BIG) ;) MOUTH WHAT YOU EAT, BECAUSE YOU WILL ULTIMATELY FEED IT TO SOMEONE ELSE! Great Point!!!!!

  1. Why were you saved? I was saved so that I could serve others.

  2. How will you serve outside of Sunday and Wednesday? I will serve the people that I'm in contact with every day. I have always found it easy to serve those people that I like, the people that I don't like I have problems serving. those are thye ones that I need to focus on serving.

  3. What exactly will you serve? I need to serve what I have been fed at BAM.

  4. What did you hear that convicted you and what did you hear that inspired a change in the way you "serve." I must love my neighbor as I love myself. this means all my neighbors not…
