We cannot make God louder we must turn down the noise to hear him at his volume.

Thermometer or Thermostat : A thermometer will become just like the room it's in but a thermostat is connected to the power and it has the ability to change the room.
The enemy will try to get us to live in the past. If that doesn't work he will try to get us too obsess about the future. He will always try to not let us live in the now.
The present is the only place where time touches eternity.
We choose whether or not to live in the present moment. Because we can encounter God only in the present moment, whenever we live in the past or in the future, we place ourselves beyond His reach.
We talked about Daniel and the moment in which the law was signed that no one could pray except to the king. I imagine there was some noise in Daniel's thoughts when he left work to head home to pray that afternoon. But his connection to God was not overpowered by the noise of what was going on in his life. Because by the time he got home he didn't go into a prayer closet. He went to the window and he prayed just as he had done before. He knew what the outcome was going to be but because the voice of God was not drowned out by the noise of the opposition he prayed anyway and he went through the lion's den.
Peter got his feet wet. There were 11 of their disciples with " dry feet" they did not have the experience that Jesus did or the experience that Peter did.
Still in the moment after taking steps on the water The noise overpowered the faith that Peter was walking in he took his eyes off the one that had told him to step out and he began to sink. I think this moment is encouraging to us because in the moment of faith the noise will come to distract us and take our eyes off our source to stop us from doing what God has instructed us to do.
So if it happened to Peter it happens to us and we can overcome that when we are not ignorant to the enemy's devices we live in the present we connect with God and we don't allow the noise to separate us from God.

I can honestly say, I have always been a thermostat. I have definitely been a thermometer in certain circumstance, but I was always looking for the opening to start changing the temp. But I have also been in a place like Rev. Ryan said, I need to remember to get recharged. Especially, when it seems like the only attack of the enemy seems like a "crisis" in the moment you're going through it. Another way I would slip up was forgetting the Source of my power, and letting the enemy think I was alone. But…

So, so, so often I've been the thermometer. In many ways, many times in my life I excused it as an advantage. "Oh, I'm a chameleon, I can get along with anyone, go with the flow"... etc. Certainly not always the best thing to do, for me or others! But, to apply this thermostat way of thinking... Often I can see or feel when things are "not right" in a situation. Some through natural logic, but more through being sensitive and trained by the Spirit. Too often I've seen something wrong or off and not…
How do you see yourself now, a thermometer or a thermostat? What's a way you can apply this new way of thinking into your life? For quite some time now, I would have said I am a thermostat. I am always the one in my place of employment that recognizes when the atmosphere is not the "right temperature" and changes it. However on Monday I was absolutely not working as a thermostat and was only being a thermometer. I had to get that fixed so the rest of this week I could operate correctly as the influence I need to be. The first thing I had to do is repent for allowing the "problem" we had to get me frustrated (people…
