Residue Remover

In Matthew chapter 22 we learned that we are to love God and to love people. As we explored the concept of forgiveness and healing. The effects and residue that sin creates in our lives we have learned a deeper and more profound way to love people. This also is a way to be loved and to truly love people we must experience being loved so that we can fully love people.

Proverbs talks about iron sharpening iron and how one can sharpen the countenance of another. The interaction and the connection that we have in our relationships with people is vitally important and helps us become who God intended us to be.
Luke chapter 4 talks about how the spirit of the Lord was upon Jesus to heal and to set at liberty. There was a two-step process number one vertical forgiveness: the legal pardon that really was done by what the shed blood of Jesus in the work of the cross paid for for me and you.
In 1st John chapter 1 we read about confessing our sins and he's faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from unrighteousness God restores us to him and sin no longer separates us.
In James chapter 5 it says confess your faults one to another and pray for one another that you may be healed. This second part of horizontal healing we find out this is the moment where effectual fervent prayer avails much.
In the moments where we are honest with each other and we ask for help and call on the elders of the church healing and restoration takes place and when we pray in these moments of true asking God for help we experience real freedom.
Many live a life forgiven but still imprisoned to the history of sin.
God needs people to help take us out of the past and into the future that God intends for us.
As we went over the story of Lazarus there was a crucial detail at the end of the story that John told us about. After Jesus called Lazarus forth from the dead he instructed the people there to lose him and let him go Lazarus was alive but still bound from the effects of death.
I think this helps to tell the correlation of what we are to do to help Jesus and minister to people.
God forgives and we help to unwrap the grave clothes, the effects of sin and help people to step into a new life.
Lazarus couldn't get the grave clothes off himself; he needed help and that's what God has called us to do to help those that want to step out of sin and live a new life.
To help others we have to fully experience this process so that we can be a people that would truly help others become free.

What's your story where Jesus forgave and someone helped you unwrap the grave clothes?
-from the time I started at Bam my "grave clothes" have been being removed - so much mind stuff holding me hostage, but more and more it was and is being removed. Bishop was the one to see it right from the start. He began calling it out and praying over me, removing the junk and lies I let my head believe. Freeing my mind to begin to see that God created me for so much more, and that freedom allowed me to begin to grow because the lies were replaced with God's truth.
You can't escape your mind but you can let God, let the…
1. What's your story where Jesus forgave and someone helped you unwrap the grave clothes?
Premarital counseling in 2023 with Reverend Ryan is what began the process of unwrapping my grave clothes. There were small statements (seeds) made during those sessions that started some mindset shifts. Like how God wants us to handle our finances, what the true purpose of prayer is, and how to love your wife like Christ loves the church. All things that has brought freedom, loosening the grave clothes of "American Christianity", which is filled with bondage and lawlessness. I am grateful for Reverend Ryan being the one that was willing to guide and unwrap me with the true gospel.

What's your story where Jesus forgave and someone helped you unwrap the grave clothes? Honestly, the most recent is fresh on my mind...for most of my life I was so insecure and I lived it by wanting attention and approval all the time to make me feel loved and valued. I know I was in a wrong state of mind and heart and had repented time again--but it truly took Bishop speaking truth, over and over, to me that over time, completely unwrapped all of the grave clothes of that insecurity off! He would work at it, and then I would wrap myself back up. I can see that now. So, it took much longer than it should have but he…
What's your story where Jesus forgave and someone helped you unwrap the grave clothes?
My story of experiencing forgiveness and truly getting MOST if not ALL my grave clothes taken off really begins at BAM Bible School 2012, even though I was saved for about 9 years when I started, and continued on even after graduating and being a licensed minister. Bishop systematically pointed out my "tomb behavior" where I needed to confess my sin, repent, and get back on the path God was calling me to and had for me. I needed experience the forgiveness both from God and Bishop. Bishop's wisdom and direction helped me take off my grave clothes A LOT.
