Where Is Your Revival--It's in the Mourning (For Our City)

God asked the question, "Where in Your Revival?"--this sent me on a journey in the scriptures and in prayer for the answer to the question God asked ALL of us. I found the answer in Isaiah 61:3. Â "To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness (this is revival); that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified."
It's in the Mourning we find revival.
Revival--A Spiritual awakening after being in a state of dormancy or stagnation (not moving) and is usually characterized by a renewed appreciation for God's holiness and a renewed passion.
The Mourning where revival is found is over a City of people who do not know God. Their lives showing the separation from God and devastation they are in by being so self focused, sick and medicated, filling their lives with whatever will make them feel better about this world we live in. Often times today people hear that they are forgiven and that Jesus loves them--but they don't hear how un-repented sin causes a disconnect with God and allows the enemy to rule over the person. The goodness of God leads people to repentance. God is looking for a people who will Mourn for those who are lost.
What does it mean to Mourn? It's lament, deep sorrow, a crying out, a wailing. God is a holy God and sin is still not okay with Him. When there is no repentance, there is judgment. It is those who will mourn for the spiritual state of others that God will bring revival to and they are the one He calls Trees of Righteousness, those He plants and uses to bring revival to others.
People's lives are stake. Not only their eternity, but their health, their sanity, their purpose, their livelihood, and even their families. We cannot just walk on by anymore not seeing people. Let us pray that God would crease our hearts to the point that we will mourn for others and see God move in our City as we cry out for the people to be reconciled to God--that true Salvation would come and our Cities would experience revival in people's lives.
Let's Discuss...
Do you need revival?
Have you ever experienced real mourning for others that are not your "family/loved one"?
Will you commit to repenting for not truly mourning for people and allow God to crease your heart and begin to pray for the next 35 days to Revival?
What was your aha, ouch, oh my?
